The people like Range Rover. And now they can buy this machine in an armoured version.
Factory tuning studio company Jaguar Land Rover called SVO (Special Vehicle Operations) has issued its first armoured vehicle. The model, called Range Rover Sentinel.
The British decided to start immediately with the standard VR8 - this protection allows to protect the driver and passengers from armor-piercing incendiary bullets 7.62, bombing up to 15 kilograms of TNT, or fragmentation grenades. To do this, the car was reinforced door, underbody protection, there are fire-extinguishing system, an extra battery, tires, which are not afraid of a blowout, as well as an emergency exit - it is located behind the rear seats.
The big advantage of the factory reservation is that the engineers thought of strength of the suspension, retuned transmission and installing the super brakes. But the engine's not the most powerful. The British decided not to use a 5.0-liter V8 (510 hp), but a compact 6-cylinder unit that produces 340 hp. Apparently, it was made exclusively from layout considerations.
The price? It is already known. The basic version of the armored Range Rover will cost about 400 thousand euros.
