The 2016 Chevrolet SS will arrive in showrooms with a slightly different face and a new exhaust system. It will undergo some visual refresh and will get a six-speed manual transmission.
A new dual-mode exhaust will help keep you from waking up your neighbors. It's quieter and low engine speeds, while still allowing a throaty musclecar roar at full-throttle.
The good news is that the 2016 Chevrolet SS doesn't lose any of what makes us love the performance sedan. The 6.2-liter V-8 engine is unchanged, with 415 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque pounding through either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. Brembo brakes, Magnetic Ride Control suspension, and high-performance Bridgestone tires all come as standard.
Expect a slight price hike over the cost of a 2015 Chevrolet SS, which today lists for $48,040 after a $995 destination charge and a $1,300 gas guzzler tax.
