The 2016 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January will be marked along with other interesting events by the presentation of the new all-electric Volkswagen model of an EV concept car that has been already announced by an intriguing teaser.
This concept is meant to show off VW’s big plans for electrification, a technology that’s becoming increasingly important for the company as it attempts to move beyond its recent diesel emissions scandal. The company will likely outline a plan for its future battery technologies and electrification across its product lineup at CES aiming to usher in “a new era of affordable long-distance electromobility.”
VW has already shown a number of plug-in hybrid vehicles over the past year, and currently sells the all-electric e-Golf in the U.S. The new teaser photo shows a tall front end with an imposing 3- bar grille and a large, illuminated VW logo, but still leaves plenty to the imagination. But it is very probable that this concept may be the revived Volkswagen Microbus that’s been talked about for a long time now.
